Among the Bethlehem hills and herds
Jesse's youngest son lived
He didn't seek honors or rewards

Samuel appeared according to God's will
To anoint the king again on the throne

David ran to an important battle

The hand slipped into the bag at the same moment
And the pebble struck down the great enemy
Goliath defeated by a hit to the temple
Saul is only thousands, David is tens of thousands!
And this song is like a knife in the belly
Sin and bitterness arise in Saul
The king's soul boils in mortal rage
But in the faithful heart the covenant lives

David, in humility, gave this answer:
Although it was getting harder and harder to fight

David came to take the crown
The Lord Creator leads him this way

Build a palace for God -
He left his son in his care
Passed away, entered into eternity
Shepherd, prophet, singer, ruler
As a man after God's own heart he is exalted -
A poet who accomplished a feat of humility
His fate is a lesson for this century
What God sees is not appearance
And the heart of man
