I made my way last night
Along a path through the woods,
When out to meet me stepped a Leshy—
Huge and wicked as a fiend.
I would have liked to tell everyone
That monsters are just nonsense!
But the Leshy grabbed me tight by the neck
And dragged me off toward himself.
I fought and screamed in vain;
Now I shiver from the cold.
I am a drowned man now,
And I serve the Leshy!
Once I was a wretched, ordinary townsman,
Busy from dawn till dusk with my boss's chores.
Now, however, I am a ghoul, hunting down the lost;
And if I spot you, I’ll drag you off for dinner.
I would have liked to tell everyone
That monsters are just nonsense!
But the Leshy grabbed me tight by the neck
And dragged me off toward himself.

Now I shiver from the cold.

Along the forest trails at night;

You never find me in the woods.
